Topps 1972 Football set consists of 351 cards, each measuring 2-1/2" by 3-1/2”. The set was issued in three series, with the final series (#s 264-351) considerably more difficult to find. Each card front employed either a posed, horizontal or vertical, photo bordered by team colors. Horizontal photos have team names to the left while vertical photos have team names at the top, with the player's name and his position always situated along the bottom. The card backs bear statistics and a cartoon. Subsets include league leaders (#s 1-8), In-Action cards (#s 119-132, #s 250-263, #s 338-351), playoffs (#s 133-139) and All-Pro (#s 264-287). This set is anchored by Joe Namath (#100), Gale Sayers (#110), Terry Bradshaw (#150), O.J. Simpson (#160), Johnny Unitas (#165), Dick Butkus (#170), Bubba Smith (#190), Fran Tarkenton (#225), Joe Greene (#230), George Blanda (#235), Jack Pardee (#293) and Alan Page (#300); key rookie cards include John Riggins (#13), Archie Manning (#55), Jim Plunkett (#65), Ted Hendricks (#93), L.C.
